Difference between Primary and Secondary batteries

Primary Batteries: Reaction occurs only once. They are not rechargeable and become dead after use. Examples: Dry cell, Mercury cell. Secondary Batteries: Can be recharged by passing current in the opposite direction. Can be used again and again. Examples: Lead storage battery, Nickel-Cadmium cell.
